Every dog is unique and so are his or her grooming needs. How often they need their hair brushed, trimmed, and washed will depend on the length, texture, and density of your dog’s coat. Though grooming needs can vary within breeds, there are some reliable standards for different types of dog hair.
Short-haired dogs with oilier skin types benefit from a good wash every four to six weeks. Otherwise, they need a bath every six to 12 weeks.
Long-haired dogs need a bath every four to six weeks, complemented by a haircut every eight to 12 weeks.
We are happy to take in walk-in appointments for nail clipping and other services, but we do prefer an appointment to help our day run smoother and avoid any unwanted conflict in the lobby with possible aggressive or nervous dogs.
Before your pet comes to the grooming, we strongly recommend they have a chance to relieve themselves. They may want to have a meal beforehand, but keep in mind if your pet is nervous, they might do better with an empty stomach. Make sure you walk them in on a secure collar and leash. Bringing them inside in your arms could cause them anxiety. A nice long walk may relieve some anxiety and energy before grooming.
